How the job runs

Six steps, in order. You are involved in two of them.

1 · You tell us the address

That is genuinely all we need to start. The address decides almost everything else.

2 · We look up the wind speed for it

Every address in the country has an adopted design wind speed — the figure the local building code says a structure has to withstand. We check yours before we quote anything. It is why two houses twenty miles apart can need different poles, and it is the step most quotes skip.

3 · We size the pole to that figure

Wall thickness, butt diameter and height, chosen against the wind speed with a flag flying, which is the harder condition. Not the pole that fits the budget and not the one at the top of the catalogue — the one that suits the site.

4 · You get one price

Pole, foundation, labour and the flag, in a single number. No line for mobilisation, no separate concrete charge, no surprise on the day. If the ground turns out to be something other than soil we tell you before we dig, not after.

5 · We dig, pour and set

The foundation is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether the pole is still straight in twenty years. It is sized to the pole and to the ground it is going into. The pole goes in on a ground sleeve, so it can be taken out again if it ever has to be.

6 · The flag goes up before we leave

We run the halyard, fit the flag and fly it while we are still there, so you see the finished thing rather than a pole and a box of parts. Then we show you how to raise and lower it, which takes about two minutes.

What people ask before booking

How long does it take?

Most residential poles are one day on site. Concrete needs time to cure before the pole takes load, so a new foundation is usually two visits a few days apart. A replacement into existing concrete can be a couple of hours.

Do I need a permit?

Often not, and it usually depends on height. Where one is needed, the property owner files it — we do not pull permits. What we will do is tell you whether your jurisdiction wants one before you order, and give you the pole specification and drawings the application asks for.

Can you put it where I want it?

Almost always. We will say if a spot is a bad idea — too close to the house, under a tree, over a utility line — but it is your ground and your decision.

What about the flag?

Sized with the pole and included in the price. An oversized flag is the fastest way to void a pole warranty, so the two are chosen together.

Do you take the old pole away?

Yes. Say so when you ring and it is in the quote.
