Flagpole sales and installation in Kansas City — we supply the pole and we put it up, sized for the local wind and fitted by experienced, licensed and insured crews.
Nothing there yet. We size it, dig the base, set the pole and fly the flag. One price for all of it.
Get a priceBent, snapped or corroded. Often we reuse the concrete that is already there, which makes it a short visit.
Get a priceFrayed rope, a seized pulley, a worn winch. Small jobs we still turn up for.
Get a priceDowntown Loop offices and the hotels around the Power and Light District take 35 to 40 ft, which is the least that carries above a wall of that height. Crown Center and the hospital campuses hold at 30 to 35 ft. On the Country Club Plaza the buildings are low, close together and deliberately ornamental, so 20 to 25 ft sits better there than anything trying to compete with the towers.
A four-county city of corporate offices, hospitals, distribution and a downtown standing on a bluff above the point where the Kansas River meets the Missouri. We cover Kansas City and the Jackson County area, including the Country Club Plaza, Crown Center, the Power and Light District, the Crossroads, 18th and Vine, the River Market, the West Bottoms, Union Station and the National World War I Museum and Memorial.
Wind here. Kansas City sits in an inland urban, bluff and floodplain area, which works out to roughly 110 mph under the code your town uses. That figure decides how wide and how thick the pole has to be, so we check it against your address before we quote. Kansas City runs across four counties — Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass — so we need the street before anything else. Inside the city the zoning and development code is blunt about historic property: on a designated landmark, or anywhere inside a historic district or historic overlay district, a certificate of appropriateness is required for exterior work visible from a public place or right-of-way, and no permit is issued until that certificate is approved. The ground splits as sharply as the paperwork. Up on the bluffs the Bethany Falls limestone is shallow enough to have been quarried, and there are mined rooms under part of the Northland, so an auger can meet refusal a long way short of depth and the footing turns into a cutting job. Down in the West Bottoms and the river flats it is made ground and floodplain instead, which wants a wider footing than the same pole would take up on the hill. The Downtown Loop adds its own problem: towers standing close together speed the wind along the cross streets, so a spot down there gets settled standing on the site rather than off a drawing.
