What we do in Everett

How tall, for a Everett building

Aerospace and industrial frontage near Paine Field runs 35 to 40 ft; the buildings there are vast and low, and a short pole simply disappears against them. Hospital, college and civic buildings downtown take 30 ft. On the waterfront and around the marina we usually stay at 20 to 25 ft, partly for the bluff setback and partly because on open saltwater frontage extra feet buy load rather than presence.

Flagpoles in Everett

An industrial port city on a bluff above Port Gardner, with a widebody aircraft plant at one end of it and a Navy homeport at the other. We cover Everett and the Snohomish County area, including downtown and the Everett Station district, the Port of Everett and Waterfront Place, Naval Station Everett, the Boeing plant at Paine Field, Providence Regional Medical Center, Everett Community College, Rucker Hill and the Snohomish River delta at the north end.

Wind here. Everett sits in an exposed, saltwater-facing area, which works out to roughly 100 mph under the code your town uses. That figure decides how wide and how thick the pole has to be, so we check it against your address before we quote. Everett has three kinds of ground inside one city. The waterfront is a bluff, and the city maps landslide hazard along it, so a pole anywhere near the edge needs a setback and usually a geotechnical letter behind it. The delta ground north and east of downtown is soft river deposit, and a footing there spreads wider to make up for it. The bluff top between the two is glacial till, and it is the easiest of the three to work in. Naval Station Everett and the marina keep salt in the air across the whole west side of town, so anything facing Port Gardner gets an anodized shaft and stainless fittings; plated ones are finished in a few winters.

Most of the people who call us from Everett are aerospace and manufacturing buildings, marine trades and marina tenants, hospitals and clinics, veterans posts, schools and college buildings, and municipal facilities.
