Get a priceYes, we install in Richmond. We sell, install and repair flagpoles in Richmond and across Virginia: new in-ground and commercial flagpoles, flagpole replacement, and rope (halyard) repair.
Our installers are very experienced, some with over 20 years of setting flagpoles. They size the foundation, set the pole plumb and fly your flag before they leave, and you deal with us from the first call: one company, one price, (350) 305-3524 (FLAG).
30 ft for state and institutional buildings. 25 ft for historic district commercial. 35 to 40 ft on university campuses.
State capital, with government, university and a large historic building stock. We cover Richmond and the Richmond, Virginia area, including Capitol Square, Shockoe Bottom, the Fan, Scotts Addition, Church Hill, VCU and the James River waterfront.
Wind here. Richmond sits in an inland, Piedmont area, which Eder’s published wind map puts in the 90 mph zone. Eder rates every pole for a wind speed with the flag flying, matched to that map, so the zone decides how wide and how thick the pole has to be. We check it against your address before we quote. Richmond sizing is straightforward, but the building stock is not. A great deal of our work here touches historic properties where the pole has to suit the architecture and pass review. Anodized finishes get specified more often than satin for that reason.
Most of the people who call us from Richmond are state government buildings, universities and schools, museums and historic sites, offices, churches and veterans organisations.
Richmond’s Old and Historic Districts, including Church Hill, Monument Avenue and Shockoe Slip, go through the city’s Commission of Architectural Review. Under the Virginia building code, a flagpole 30 ft or shorter needs no building permit, though it still has to meet the code.
Richmond is the state capital and sits on the fall line of the James, where the river drops over rock; ground near the river can be rock or fill. The Capitol, VCU and the University of Richmond, the hospitals and the state offices are the big sites, and the Fan and Museum District rowhouses usually take a bracket rather than a pole.
In Richmond, a 90 mph wind zone, a 25 ft flagpole rated for that wind starts at about $2,450 for the pole (Eder ECX25), and a 30 ft one at about $3,300 (Eder ECXA30), in satin aluminum. Installation, the concrete foundation and the flag depend on your site, and we price all of it on one quote, usually the same day. Every pole and price is on our flagpoles page.
