Wind here. Pennsylvania is close to 300 miles wide and the wind figure does not move across it. • The ridge-and-valley and the Alleghenies — 90 mph on Eder's map on the valley floor. Ridge tops, wind gaps and anything with a long view run higher, and those get checked address by address.
• The west and the Lake Erie shore — 90 mph on Eder's map again. Ice and snow on the rope and pulley cost you more here than wind does, so stainless hardware earns its money.
